(Disneyland, 1974) A beautiful original concept design for a character maquette given exclusively to attendees of the Press Preview event for the Grand Opening of America Sings. This illustration is accomplished in ink on thin artist's paper and features Sam the Eagle. The image was inspired by Blaine Gibson's original maquette for the character. A hand-written note in blue pencil reads "9 Inches" for the height measurement of the character maquette. This illustration measures 14.75"x11" and is in fair condition with a horizontal and vertical fold mark down the center and some minor edge-wear. There is a 4" thin tear along the top fold-line and multiple pin-marks along the top edge.
