Über das Objekt

Don Sutcliffe, Managing Director of Craft Distillers and Willie Phillips, former Managing Director of Macallan, have collaborated to create a significant small batch Scotch Grain Whisky. Sourcing from some of the most unique distilleries in Scotland that use corn and wheat, they have chosen 3 very distinct barrels from the following distilleries: Loch Lomond, North British and Carsebridge. After marrying the whiskies together, it's matured further in Sherry oak barrels. Loch Lomond started producing grain whisky in 1993 and has become a tourist attraction due to its association with the Tintin comics. Their main components to the blend are notes of blackberries and lemon peels.A 14 year old North British grain whisky is the backbone of The Exceptional. The distillery was established in 1885 and now remains the last working one in Edinburgh. Diageo and Edrington Group joined forces to run the property and produce about 16.3 million gallons of spirit a year. But one of the greatest finds is the 30 year old Carsebridge barrel which lends depth and character to the blend. The distillery was closed in 1983 and then demolished in 1992, making it a rare whisky.Don Sutcliffe, Managing Director of Craft Distillers and Willie Phillips, former Managing Director of Macallan, have collaborated to create a significant small batch Scotch Grain Whisky.
