(Walt Disney Studios, 1994) An original hand-painted production background and hand-painted matching cel from The Lion King. While the characters for The Lion King were created digitally for the film by scanning original pencil drawings, the stunning backgrounds were still hand-painted. For this original production background, Disney Ink & Paint artists recreated a one of a kind hand-painted cel setup by using the original production drawing of Mufasa and Simba escaping the wildebeest from this scene. The cel setup includes a dust effects layer, and in the bottom-right corner of the cel is a gold The Walt Disney Company seal. The background has an image size of 10.5"x13" within its 20"x22.5" frame. The background and setup have not been inspected out of frame but appear to be in very good condition with a couple of scratches to effects cel layer. The frame shows some scratching to the outside and scuffing to the plexiglass.
