1785 Connecticut Copper. Miller 3.1-L, W-2325. Rarity-4+. Bust Right.

1785 Connecticut Copper. Miller 3.1-L, W-2325. Rarity-4+. Bust Right. VF-35 (PCGS). Nice golden-brown patina overall with intermingled light olive most pronounced around the obverse periphery. There is little border denticulation on either side, but centering is quite good nonetheless, only the top of the liberty cap is beyond the planchet at upper right reverse. Flan lightly flawed at central obverse and before effigy's chin, more extensively so at the border outside the letters CON in CONNEC, also on the reverse within the seated figure's legs and at the letter D in INDE. The surfaces are microgranular, but reveal few marks of an even trivial nature. With all major design elements appreciable to bold, this is respectable mid-grade example of both the 1785 Bust Right Connecticut Guide Book type and the Miller 3.1-L die pairing. Provenance: From the Emerald Coast Collection. PCGS# 316. NGC ID: 2B2A. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
