1788 Massachusetts Cent. Ryder 8-C, W-6260. Rarity-3. Period After MASSACHUSETTS. VF-35 (PCGS). Marbled steel-brown, chestnut and olive-copper patina greets the viewer from both sides of this universally bold to sharp Choice VF example. A thin shallow planchet void meanders through the top of obverse, eerily bisecting the Native American's portrait at the neck. There are no other blemishes of note, the surfaces generally hard and tight with a pleasing appearance overall. PCGS# 948. NGC ID: 2B27. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
