Frosty AU 1799 BB-161 Bust Dollar 1799 Draped Bust Silver Dollar. BB-161, B-11. Rarity-2. AU-53 (PCGS). CAC. BB Die State IV, an unlisted state with a die lump having developed at the reverse crack where it passes below the eagle's beak. Plenty of mint luster remains on both sides of this warmly toned example, the surfaces glowing with a frosty finish as the surfaces rotate into direct lighting. Blended pewter and olive-gray patina dominates the in-hand appearance, backlit by soft champagne-pink, pale gold and powder blue iridescence. The strike is well executed, less well centered on the reverse, but to no detriment, with all design elements remaining bold to sharp in the absence of all but light high point wear. A strong offering for a Draped Bust, Heraldic Eagle dollar that will catch the eye of high grade type collectors. PCGS# 6878. NGC ID: 24X7. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
