1839 Liberty Seated Half Dollar. Drapery. WB-6. Rarity-3. EF-45 (PCGS).

1839 Liberty Seated Half Dollar. Drapery. WB-6. Rarity-3. EF-45 (PCGS). An early die state of this variety, as evidenced by horizontal die lines at the dentils at 5 o'clock on the obverse. The 1839 WB-6 also features obvious repunching of the digits 1, 3, and 9 of the date. Additional die lines above the T of UNITED confirm the reverse die. The surfaces are primarily bright silver, with subtle smoky-gold and dusty-blue toning adding color to the fields. Boldly struck as well. Provenance: From the Jim Koenings Collection. Earlier from Heritage's Tuesday & Wednesday Select Auction of July 26-27, 2022, lot 27239. PCGS# 6232. NGC ID: 24GL. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
