1938-39 Molson's Sports Displays #8 Toronto Maple Leafs Team

Offered here is the 1938-39 Molson's Sports Display with the #8 insert featuring the word "Expectation" and the Toronto Maple Leafs team of 1938-39 along the boards. These Molson promotional displays were produced for commercial establishments, likely including taverns and bars, rather than for public distribution. Measuring approximately 17" x 17" and made from a composite material resembling carved wood, each display accommodated a series of of 8 numbered 12" x 15" illustrated panels, including hockey examples depicting action at Maple Leaf Gardens and the 1938–39 Toronto Maple Leafs under the themes of “Dependability” and “Expectations.” Other known designs reference Toronto baseball and horse racing and appear to have produced in an 8 insert set. Information gathered from Bobby Burrell's Needum.
