1976 Chateau d'Yquem - Sauternes 1er Cru Supérieur - 1 Bottle (0.75L)

1976 Château d’Yquem. 1ste Cru superieur. Level: top shoulder. Capsule: excellent. Label: excellent. 1976 Château d'Yquem, the world's most renowned and prestigious Sauternes sweet dessert wine from Bordeaux, France. Widely considered the only Premier Cru Supérieur (Superior First Growth), bottles from this specific era carry substantial historical and financial value. Vintage Profile & Tasting Notes: The 1976 growing season in Bordeaux was heavily impacted by a massive, blisteringly hot summer heatwave. This forced the grapes into high sugar concentrations before autumn rains triggered the required Botrytis cinerea (noble rot). • The Profile: It is recognized by critics as an intensely rich, viscous, and tropical expression of Yquem. • Flavor Palette: Expect mature layers of apricot marmalade, crème brûlée, dried pineapple, honey, and subtle notes of café latte or burnt sugar. • Drinking Window: Thanks to its high sugar content and balancing natural acidity, it possesses legendary longevity. While it is resting nicely at its peak maturity right now, well-stored bottles will easily continue to drink beautifully through 2040+.
