1982 Harley-Davidson XLH 1000 Sportster

A desirable example of the classic Ironhead Sportster, this XLH 1000 is currently presented with striking custom-painted bodywork finished in silver metal flake and featuring evocative Harley-Davidson Speedball artwork, together with an alternate 3 1/2-gallon fuel tank for a period-correct silhouette. Exhibiting some patina today, the Sportster is accompanied by its factory bodywork, providing its next caretaker the option to return it to a more stock appearance. The 1982 Harley-Davidson Sportster represents the final chapter of the legendary Ironhead era, pairing its fantastic, air-cooled V-twin with the lean, elemental styling that had defined the model for decades. This is a collectible example from a much-loved era of production from the legendary Milwaukee-based manufacturer. *Please note that the lots offered in the Billy Joel Collection have been in long-term static storage and may not be currently operational. They will require mechanical attention prior to use. car
