(2) Rare Grado Laboratory Standard Speakers

(2) Grado Laboratory Standard loudspeakers, circa 1953/1954, serial numbers S-1157 and S-1092. Produced in small numbers for approximately one year, these early Grado loudspeakers are seldom encountered. Each measures approximately 16" x 10" x 20". Both have their original warranty cards, one still attached and the other detached but present. Original power cords are present but disconnected. Some veneer is partially separating on one speaker, with a small amount of painter's tape currently applied to prevent further separation. The speakers were recently tested by a professional speaker company using audio and spectrum analysis equipment and reportedly performed well at the time of testing. These have remained in the consignor's family since their original purchase by the consignor's grandparents around the time of production. An uncommon opportunity to acquire (2) early Grado Laboratory Standard loudspeakers with longstanding family provenance. Estimate $1,500 - $3,000
