2000 Chateau Mouton Rothschild - Pauillac 1er Grand Cru Classé - 1

2000 Mouton Rothschild, Premier Grand Cru Classe. Level: in the neck. Capsule: excellent. Label: excellent. Château Mouton Rothschild 2000, a prestigious First Growth (Premier Grand Cru Classé) red wine from the Pauillac appellation in Bordeaux, France. The Unique 2000 Collector's Bottle For the historic millennium vintage, Baroness Philippine de Rothschild departed from the estate's famous tradition of commissioning a different contemporary artist each year to design the paper label. Instead, the bottle itself became the work of art. • The Design: The bottle features a striking gold-and-silver enamel design screen-printed directly onto the glass. It depicts the famous "Augsburg Ram," an ornate, silver-gilt chiseled drinking vessel from around 1590 created by master goldsmith Jakob Schenauer, which is kept in the Château's Museum of Wine in Art. • Market Value: Because of its historic vintage, high critical scores, and the unique nature of the bottle design, this release is highly sought after by collectors. Wine Characteristics: • Blend: It is a powerful blend composed of roughly 86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Merlot. • Critical Acclaim: It is widely considered an extraordinary vintage, receiving top marks from international critics (typically 97 to 98 points from publications like Robert Parker's Wine Advocate and Jeb Dunnuck). • Drinking Window: Built for immense longevity, wine experts estimate this vintage will continue to drink beautifully and hold its peak for decades, safely through 2050 to 2060 if cellared properly.
