The Bertani method involves natural grape drying and a long maturation in large Slavonian oak barrels, followed by bottle aging. (Bertani) Vintage 2013 was particularly appreciated by critics: in addition to 95 points from Parker, it earned 97/100 from James Suckling and 96/100 from Wine Enthusiast, along with numerous Italian and international recognitions. (Millesima) The official Bertani sheet describes 2013 as an Amarone of great concentration, intensity and complexity, with fine tannins and remarkable structure. The wine shows 15.5% vol and is officially bottled in 2022. (Bertani Wine Club) Wine history and winery Bertani is one of the historic establishments of Valpolicella and the production of Classico Amarone represents one of the winery’s flagship wines. Bertani’s production philosophy favors a long evolution: slow fermentations, natural appassimento and several years of maturation in large Slavonian oak barrels. This approach is designed to develop long-lived, complex and elegant wines. (Bertani) To drink now or to keep To be enjoyed now or to be kept. The 2013 vintage has the structure, acidity and tannins for a further long aging in the cellar. It is therefore suitable for immediate tasting as well as for aging for wine enthusiasts seeking evolution. (Bertani Wine Club) Shipping method Shipping via trackable express courier, with professional packaging specifically for wine bottles and adequate shock protection.
