2022 Domaine Zind Humbrecht "Clos Windsbuhl" - Alsace - 2 Bottles (0.75L)

The Pinot Gris Clos Windsbuhl 2022 embodies the excellence of Domaine Zind Humbrecht, the definitive benchmark for biodynamics in Alsace. Produced from a historic enclosed vineyard (mentioned as far back as the 14th century) wholly owned by the estate, this wine expresses the purity of a unique calcareous terroir, paired with a late-season climate that preserves acidity even in warm vintages like 2022. Crafted from mid-aged vines of 53 years, this 100% Pinot Gris is fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged 12 months in oak foudres, with a complete malolactic fermentation that brings roundness and silkiness without ever weighing the wine down. The result: a dry white wine (residual sugar 1) with surgical precision, where saline mineral notes mingle with aromas of ripe white fruits, citrus, a touch of honey, and smoky nuances. On the palate, this Clos Windsbuhl 2022 captivates with a perfect balance between lively acidity, silky concentration, and a long, sapid finish. It is a wine for gastronomy, capable of pairing with lemon-buttered scallops, roasted poultry with mushrooms, or aged Comté. Its exceptional aging potential (up to 2041+) makes it as much a cellar investment as a wine of immediate pleasure. For lovers of great Alsatian whites, biodynamic wines, and exceptional terroirs, this Zind Humbrecht Pinot Gris is a must-have that fully justifies its legendary-wine reputation.
