A.D.P. Agencia Difusion Presse

A vintage press photograph showing Ernesto “Che” Guevara participating in agricultural work, cutting sugar cane, in a scene highly representative of the early years of the Cuban Revolution and of the voluntary work campaigns promoted during that period. The image is especially interesting because it presents Che outside the official or military portrait, engaged in a physical labor and revolutionary commitment. This type of photograph has a strong documentary and visual value, reflecting one of the most recognizable facets of his public image during the early sixties. The back bears the stamp of A.D.P. – Agence Diffusion Presse, Paris, in addition to archival handwritten annotations, elements that reinforce its journalistic provenance and editorial use. An attractive piece for collectors of historical photojournalism, the Cuban Revolution, and Ernesto Guevara, both for the figure and for the spontaneous and documentary character of the scene.
