Alle Auktionen / Möbel, Design und Spiegel / A DIVISION ONE UNDER GLASS PICTORIAL BUTTON

1 Large 18th century hand painted natural material example. Here is a scarce 18th century painting under glass from a larger set of architectural scenes of the time period. The Scene: This miniature focuses explicitly on the famous and iconic Equestrian Statue of Louis XIV. The statue depicts King Louis XIV riding a prancing horse while wearing classical Roman-style attire, symbolizing military triumph and divine right. Originally placed at the main gates or courtyard areas of Versailles, it serves as a prominent landmark welcoming visitors to the royal estate. The Background: Behind the statue's pedestal, you can see the long, symmetrical facade of the Palace of Versailles stretching across the horizon. The Foreground: The statue is flanked by large pine trees, looking out over one of the grand ornamental lakes or water features typical of Andre Le Notre's classic French landscape garden design, complete with a small sailboat visible on the water.. If you want a truly remarkable and detailed example from the famous palace grounds of Versailles in France, you cannot find a better example in my opinion. I just love the green and blue colors along with the pink tone in the sky area. Dimensions: SM=Less than 3/4", Medium=3/4" to 1 1/4".
