A DIVISION THREE HAND PAINTED PICTORIAL BUTTON

1 Large medium 1950's button from the Motiwala Studios in India. The Motiwala Brothers Studios of India were not the artists that created the buttons collectors have come to love, they were entrepreneurs who created a cottage industry after an American collector commissioned them to start creating the enamel buttons set in silver we are all familiar with. They went on to creating over 20 different material themes of buttons after that. This beautifully hand painted domed natural material example is just one of those cottage industry examples their artists were able to create for the American collector in the 1950's and early 60's. From the collection the late Don and Barb Lanier. Dimensions: SM=Less than 3/4", Medium=3/4" to 1 1/4".
