A late 1930's early 40's black silk chiffon and silk net evening gown. The dress designed with an extended ruched bodice to hips with a full skirt and zig zag inset silk net detail at base, using the same silk net for puff sleeves. Fastening at the back with hooks and eyes and rushed ribboning detail. 152cm from shoulder to hem. 39cm front under arm across. Full length silk satin petticoat has georgette detail to front and back and pink satin ribboned straps. Condition; the under arms are worn badly affecting the rushed bodice and puff sleeves, which would need removing and remodelling as a strapped bodice. The chiffon one side has moth, but can be cut away as there is enough fabric both sides to loose. Petticoat is in good condition and could be worn as a slip dress.
