The figure embodies a state of deep contemplation and conscious composure: the firm, symmetric gesture of the hands holding the face evokes a space of self-affirmation, active listening, and absolute self-mastery. The work transcends the individual portrait by focusing on body posture, turning it into a symbol of elegance and personal focus. The vibrant dialogue between the green of the attire and the warm background reflects a perfect harmony between calm and vital energy. Taken together, it is a sophisticated piece that invites us to inhabit ourselves through peace, fulfillment, and constant strength. Vida AMReyes. (Granma, Cuba 1991) discovered from a very young age that drawing was not just a hobby, but a way to translate the world. In 2010, she graduated with honors from the prestigious Carlos Enrique Gómez Academy of Fine Arts. There she consolidated exceptional technical mastery in oil painting, acrylics, and drawing from life, foundations that would later shape her conceptual style. Her early career years unfolded amid Cuba’s cultural effervescence, actively participating in young artists’ salons and group exhibitions. Her work began to stand out immediately: in salons and exhibitions she earned numerous prizes and mentions. Vida AMReyes. (Granma, Cuba 1991) discovered from a very young age that drawing was not just a hobby, but a way to translate the world. In 2010, she graduated with honors from the prestigious Carlos Enrique Gómez Academy of Fine Arts. There she consolidated exceptional technical mastery in oil painting, acrylics, and drawing from life, foundations that would later shape her conceptual signature. Her early career years unfolded amid Cuba’s cultural effervescence, actively participating in young art salons and group exhibitions. Her work quickly began to stand out: in salons and exhibitions she obtained numerous awards and mentions. AMReyes’s work is distinguished by a visceral, imposing realism that grabs the gaze instantly. However, her concept does not stop at photographic mimicry. On an anatomically studied form or faces charged with deep psychographic expressiveness, the artist overlays and integrates icons, allegories, and conceptual elements: wings that seem invisible to the wearer, suspended threads, blocks of dense color, or outfits laden with symbolism. For her, the human body and everyday figure are the perfect canvas to reflect on identity. This fusion of technical mastery and symbolic narrative opened the way to her international projection. Over the last decade, her pieces have been acquired by private collectors and galleries in: Spain: Where her conceptual language connects with European Expressionism. United States: Included in private collections dedicated to contemporary Latin American art. Belgium and Poland: Exhibited at figurative art fairs and avant-garde galleries. Russia: Acquired by collectors fascinated by rigorous technique and the school of realism. Currently, AMReyes resides in Spain, a country where she has established her studio and consolidated a new creative phase. Far from the fast commercial noise, she continues to develop her artistic life with patience and rigor, exploring painting as a tool of universal introspection. Her studio is today a space of constant creation, where every brushstroke continues to reveal those truths and hidden icons that we all carry inside, but that we often find hard to see."} }
