A Pair of F.A. Welch Sterling Silver Wedgwood Black Jasperware Cameo

A matched pair of vintage drop earrings featuring Wedgwood black jasperware plaques. Each circular plaque displays a white bas-relief profile of a woman in classical attire, bezel-set within a sterling silver frame decorated with a beaded border. The plaques are suspended from polished ball studs. The reverse of the ceramic plaques is impressed with the marks WEDGWOOD and MADE IN ENGLAND, along with the number 62. The silver mounts are stamped with the sponsor mark FAW for F.A. Welch, the lion passant for sterling silver, the hallmark for the Chester assay office, and the date letter L corresponding to 1961. The contemporary studs are stamped 14K and the metal has been verified using a Thermo Scientific Niton XL2 XRF Precious Metal Analyzer.
