The Akai PS-V20E (also known as the PS-V20) is a rare audio-video processor from the mid-1980s (circa 1985-1987). The device was marketed by Akai at the time as an optional, additional component for hi-fi stereo sets to manually edit and optimize the audio and video signals of, for example, a video recorder (VCR). Today, it is a popular vintage device in the circuit bending and video synthesis community due to its unique analog effects and built-in joystick. Key features and features: Video editing: Manual sliders for adjusting video contrast, brightness and colors (color temperature, phase and saturation). Image Fader & Colorizer: Equipped with a distinctive joystick and faders to make video effects flow smoothly or manually add colors. Video signal optimization: Includes features for video stabilization (synchronization pulses) and video enhancement (sharpening edges/edges).
