Alekos Fassianos (Greek, 1935-2022), Chez l'Épicier (At the Grocer's)

Lithograph in colors, 1995, pencil signed and numbered 12/50, matted and framed. Sight size 22 1/4 x 17 in.; Frame dimensions 29 1/2 x 23 3/4 in. Greek painter and printmaker Alekos Fassianos is known for his stylized figures, bold colors, and imagery inspired by Greek mythology and everyday life. After studying at the Athens School of Fine Arts, he moved to Paris in 1960, where he studied lithography and developed a distinctive visual language combining elements of ancient Greek art with modernist influences. His work has been exhibited internationally and is represented in major collections, including the National Gallery in Athens. Good estate condition; not examined out of frame.
