Alessi - Alessandro Mendini - Cutlery set (48) - ''Asta''...

Alessi celebrates the art of dining with ''Asta'', a cutlery set that combines bold design with everyday functionality. Composed of 48 pieces, twelve table spoons, twelve table forks, twelve table knives and twelve coffee spoons, this set is crafted from 18/10 stainless steel, mirror-polished to a brilliant finish. Designed by Alessandro Mendini in 2004, one of the most influential figures in Italian design, ''Asta'' stands out for its distinctive formal language. Each piece is defined by two contrasting elements: the slender, linear handle (the “rod”) and the generous, organic shape of the functional part. These elements meet through a minimal, almost invisible joint, creating a geometric harmony that is both striking and refined. This deliberate juxtaposition is the stylistic key to the collection: a visible dialogue between simplicity and sophistication. Details such as the cove-shaped knife blade and the square lines of the handles emphasize the sculptural quality of the design, turning everyday cutlery into a statement of proportion and elegance. Perfect for those who appreciate design as much as practicality, ''Asta'' is ideal for both daily use and special occasions. More than a set of utensils, it is a celebration of Italian craftsmanship and the beauty of shared meals. This ''Asta'' cutlery set is in unused and new condition. Delivered with original packaging and documentation. The cutlery is dishwasher safe. Please read the manual carefully before using the set. Designer: Alessandro Mendini (1931 - 2019), the visionary behind this masterpiece, was a true luminary in the design world. His architectural background and editorial contributions shaped the landscape of Italian, postmodern, and radical design, injecting new "values" and "sensibilities" that challenged the dominance of commercialism and functionalism. Recognized with prestigious international awards, including the Compasso d'Oro and the European Prize for Architecture, Mendini's impact on the design industry is immeasurable, and his legacy continues to inspire and push boundaries.
