Downtown - 01 (n.752) The measurements are: 70.00 cm x 50.00 cm x 1.50 cm Unframed; ready to be hung. Acrylics dissolved in epoxy resin on OSB - Oriented Strand Board (mixed media) This work is created on an OSB panel (Oriented Strand Board) on which I applied layers of acrylics and resin, leaving the wooden planks that make it up clearly visible. Downtown Series - With the Downtown series one perceives a vibrant, metropolitan, and almost frantic energy. Shifting from the portraits and the intense, focused social themes of "Not your doll" to this urban landscape, I intend to explore the chaos and lights of the city and how we position ourselves in this era on this planet. The portrayed metropolis seems not only as a physical space but as a visual representation of the weight of our era. From a pristine forest that was our planet, humanity has arrived at colonizing and overturning the environment, creating and shaping its own habitat, with its economic and social evolution. Each piece is securely packaged, wrapped, and protected for shipment and will arrive in a completely secure package, including the Certificate of Authenticity. I use the courier provided directly by Catawiki. A few days of delay may be caused by customs clearance at borders. Shipping takes about 7 days; about 10 days for non-EU countries. A tracking number is provided for the shipment. Different light sources can confer different colors to the photos. In the case of works that I frame directly, the dimensions may vary slightly since I personally prepare the wooden frame, stretch the canvas, and secure it to the frame. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility. The amount should be between 10% and 20% of the artwork’s value. Born in 1974 I am self-taught. After an initial period dedicated to sculpture there was a lengthy pause lasting almost twenty years. From December 2014 I resumed with the "two dimensions" for time and space reasons, leaving sculpture aside and dedicating myself to creating acrylic paintings. I love painting abstract landscapes but recently I have been pushing myself to paint faces of people, both imaginary and truly existing. For me painting is "freezing time" at that exact moment; a painting of mine is often a faded memory and thus my works are "worn, eroded by time". Sometimes the subjects of my paintings are glimpses of walls also eroded by time, with moss and mushrooms that – over time – grow on the surface. Time that passes relentlessly is the main theme of my works. Coming from a wonderful experience with clay manipulation, I love sculpture, the third dimension, the sense of touch, and my paintings are often characterized by reliefs easily perceivable by touch as well as to the eye. In this recent period, after several years during which my works were made from scraps of recycled paper forming figures, I am pushing myself to explore Optical Art where I use painted wooden discs arranged in lines and repeated grids with mathematical precision that, seen up close, seem to form a colorful abstract painting, but as you move away a portrait figure emerges from the many painted wooden discs. Violence against women is a theme that characterizes almost all of my works when I reproduce female faces, precisely to give them a voice when they do not have the strength or courage to report that they are not their partner’s dolls and cannot be mistreated or, worse, victims of violence.
