Alla Faber - Open Sky. Serie: Poppies XXL

Technical Details and Description Open Sky — Poppies Original painting by Alla Faber Acrylic on canvas Dimensions: approximately 160 × 108 cm Canvas: 400 g/m² Series: Poppies Shipping: rolled, without stretcher frame A certificate of authenticity is included. Open Sky is a large-format work from the Poppies series, where bright red poppies meet an open, light, and atmospheric color world. From dense, dark vegetation, numerous poppies rise in varying heights. Rich reds form a strong contrast to the subdued greens, grays, and pinks of the surroundings. Fine stems, grasses, and spontaneous splashes of color give the composition movement and a lively, natural rhythm. The image opens up toward the top. The lush vegetation transitions into a wide, bright sky, creating a striking contrast between the dense, powerful lower half and the calm expanse above. The red blossoms seem to push toward the open space, imparting lightness and dynamism to the vertical composition. White, yellow, and golden color accents evoke small wildflowers and light reflections among the grasses. They brighten the darker areas and enhance the impression of a summer field full of movement and life. The title Open Sky reflects the piece’s special openness—the sense of vastness, freedom, and a gaze that loses itself beyond the wild poppy field into the bright sky. Thanks to its large vertical format, the work is particularly suitable as a striking focal point in tall, open spaces as well as in modern living, office, or entrance areas. Note: Since the canvas is shipped unstretched, when stretching a portion of the edge should be allowed for the hems. The visible dimensions may therefore be slightly smaller after stretching. About the artist Alla Faber lives and works in Hamburg. For several years, she has devoted herself to abstract and contemporary painting, creating large-scale works that balance stillness and movement, structure and lightness. Her preferred materials are acrylic paints, texture gels, and metallic foils—combined in delicate, often multi-layered compositions. Through subtle transitions, harmonious color gradations, and light reflections, her pictures do not dominate the space but fill it with quiet presence. Her artistic work follows the concept “So klingt die Stille” (That’s How Silence Sounds) — a painterly exploration of the moment between sound and silence. In this silence, for Faber, there is no emptiness, but a living force: the breathing of light, the whisper of colors, the gentle pulsation of the space. Her works have been shown in several exhibitions in Hamburg, including Hamburg zeigt Kunst, and in various galleries and HASPA branches. Numerous works are in private collections across Europe—in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. Her works are also represented in private collections worldwide, including the USA and the United Arab Emirates.
