AMA • Pope (1985) – "Aurora POWER" – 4/20 Often imitated, never equaled: the original Aurora, signed "Pope". When motivation becomes a luminous force. Following the success of the Aurora Borealis series, Original Fake Aurora, Authentic Fake Aurora… Pope continues his ironic exploration of contemporary myths, between personal achievement, entrepreneurial culture, and the modern obsession with performance. "Aurora POWER" – Money, Power, Respect erects a founding triptych of the mindset of today’s business culture into a luminous, chrome, hypnotic object, almost totemic. On the front face, the message asserts itself: POWER accompanied by a golden W that subtly echoes the emoji of the lightning bolt — a graphical nod to energy, momentum, and power. On the sides, the motto unfolds: MONEY / RESPECT. A universal mantra. A leitmotiv etched into matter. An emblematic triad of modern motivational culture. The ribbed, textured black vinyl dialogue with the chromed surfaces and iridescent reflections, while the inner light transforms the sculpture into a true visual engine, pulsing like a source of creative energy. By day: a bright, cold, statuesque icon. By night: a multicolored aurora borealis that lights up the space. A striking contrast between individual ambition and the collective fascination with success. Pope, cofounder of the AMA collective, develops a singular artistic universe driven by a practice of the plastic arts since childhood, meticulous attention to detail, and careful visual research. Through sculptures, paintings, and installations, he draws inspiration from photography, urban landscapes, and everyday scenes, with a sensitive and wondrous gaze, attentive to both the simplicity and the complexity of the world around him. Pope mainly draws inspiration from the world around him but also from various art currents of renowned artists such as Banksy, Keith Haring, Koons, Orlinski, Takashi, Fred Allart, Shepard Fairey, Warhol, Yayoi Kusama, Richard Hamilton, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Alec Monopoly, KAWS, Pantone, Mr. Brainwash, Blek le Rat, to name a few. Whether it’s a gift, a memento, or your personal collection of contemporary art, you’ll easily find something you love thanks to the diversity of our works. Indeed, Pope pursues his passion for urban art through street art and pop art (in or out of edition) addressing a wide range of themes such as cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum), the dollar, money, gold, wealth, the sex industry, drug abuse, luxury brands and high fashion, the world of comics and video games, the pharmaceutical industry and medicines, recycling and upcycling, food and fashion industry products (sports, sneakers...), Brands guide our choices and often our lives without us realizing it. Aware of this impact, Pope likes to mischievously reinterpret labels such as Louis Vuitton (LV), Chanel, Dior, Hermès, Prada, Gucci, Rolex, Yves Saint Laurent (YSL), Supreme, Obey, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG, Mercedes, Nike (Air Jordan), Adidas (Stan Smith), Coca Cola, Pepsi, Marvel and Avengers (Batman, Joker, Superman...), Disney (Mickey, Scrooge McDuck...), Nintendo, Sega, Tintin, Lego, Pokemon, Vans and many others. Dear bidders, our collective is making every effort to ensure that all information necessary to evaluate the lot sold is clearly detailed in the listing: dimensions, weight, description, and photos... After the sale, no unjustified claims will be considered. Thank you for your understanding.
