Antique Sivas Elbeyli is an old handmade rug from the Sivas region in Central Anatolia, Turkey - hallway rug. Wool, handcrafted and hand-knotted. Period: Late 19th century / early 20th century. Dimensions: 315 x 125 cm. Bayader motifs. Main features Origin: Woven by the Elbeyli community or the subregion in Sivas Province. Style and motifs: They are often distinguished by geometric compositions, medallions, or prayer-rug-like formats, different from the more urban floral motifs of Sivas. Materials and colors: Wool on a wool warp, natural dyes derived from roots and plants, with earthy, ochre or pastel tones. Age: Most pieces available on the art and collectible market are ancient or antique from the early 20th century (often over 100 years old).
