Carved pearl in nephrite jade adorned with a cicada. Elegant pearl carved in nephrite jade with celadon green tones. The cicada is a symbol of immortality and rebirth in Chinese civilization. Pierced with a hole opening at both conical edges. On the upper part, a cicada. body, of form The oval-shaped pearl is axially hollowed with a through opening connecting the two ends at the conical edges. The stone shows ferruginous oxidation zones and natural erosion, testifying to an ancient burial and a surface polished by time. These objects are for the most part intended for the “literate” (scholars). This pearl exhibits a pretty celadon color with varied nuances.
