Bronze zoomorphic pendant with a stylized ram head and spiral horns Culture: Ancient, with pre-Roman or Roman tradition. Chronology: 2nd century AD. Material: Bronze. Measurements: 65 × 50 × 1 mm. A singular and attractive ornamental bronze pendant, made from a fine metal sheet and decorated with an expressive zoomorphic representation, possibly identifiable with a stylized ram’s head. The piece features a broad upper area with a rounded outline, beneath which two large, perfectly defined spiral motifs stand out, interpretable as the powerful curled horns of the animal. The composition extends toward a distinctive triangular snout, accompanied by two lateral curved elements that reinforce the expressiveness of the representation. Small dotted circular motifs enrich the details of the design. At its top it preserves a suspension ring, suggesting its use as an ornamental pendant or possible amulet. The ram occupied a prominent place in many ancient cultures, associated with concepts of strength, fertility, and protection, and was frequently represented in small ornamental and symbolic objects. Its particularly attractive archaeological patina stands out, with olive green, dark brown tones and earthy deposits, which enhance the incised lines and the singular geometry of the composition. Condition: Good visual integrity, with the upper ring preserved and the decoration clearly recognizable. It shows surface wear, oxidations, and earthy concretions on the reverse. A suggestive piece of ancient metalwork, especially interesting for its extraordinary geometric stylization, its zoomorphic iconography, and the expressive force of its design.
