The frame is cast metal, finely decorated with a rich gold finish, topped by a sumptuous eagle with outstretched wings. The instrument houses two high-precision analog gauges: a central aneroid barometer (with indications 'Rain, Variable, Fine Weather') and a lower thermometer with a Celsius scale (-10 to +50).
