See the attached photo with the original purchase information for this work, which is still in excellent condition, and another “Whirling Bronze” by Anke Birnie. The bronze sculptures by Anke Birnie are nearly always unique pieces, due to working in cire perdu (lost-wax method). They are long, slender figures with loose, fluttering clothing. Strength and fragility are united in their appearance. Fully aware of their vulnerability, they dare to surrender themselves to life. Movements and poses are an inexhaustible source of inspiration for Anke.
