Lot of 2 rare original Yardley London advertising displays, from the 1950s, coming from a historic perfumery. Both authentic originals, not reprints 1) YARDLEY LOTUS - A richly perfumed cologne Splendid sign on rigid cardboard with a metal trim, artistic illustration with a large pink lotus flower and a yellow bottle. Artist's signature at the bottom "ett." Text: "Lotus Yardley - A richly perfumed cologne" Dimensions: 25 x 34 cm Front: colors still beautiful, with the original glossy varnish. Edges with superficial rust due to metal oxidation, typical of the age and proof of authenticity, as in the detail photo. Back: bare cardboard with original hanging cord and reinforcement tab 2) YARDLEY Lipsticks - Rouge ... and Complexion Powders - SHADE CARD Very rare shade card / counter display. Shows 8 lipstick shades (Natural Rose, Pretty Pink, Cherry, Fuchsia, Holly Red, Burgundy, Vivid, Bright Red) and 8 powder shades (Cameo, Pink Pearl, Honey Glow, Pink Champagne, Golden Rachel, Rose Amber, Rose Tan, Tampico). Illustration with 2 ’50s female profiles applying lipstick and powder. Text: "YARDLEY - Rouge - Lipsticks ...and Complexion Powders" On the back: original label adhered "YARDLEY SHADE CARD Ref. No. D3/SGe Made in England" Same rigid cardboard backing with oxidized metal edging, as in the photo. Signs of age and small stains but complete and original. Dimensions: 23 x 31 cm Overall condition: Good vintage condition for its age (70+ years). Wear to the metallic edges with rust, scratches on the glossy surface, as shown in the detailed photos. No holes, no reproductions. Material: Pressed cardboard + perimeter metal strip. Provenance: From the stockroom of a historic Italian perfumery from the 1950s-60s.
