Antiek dienblad - Tray - Wood - kerf-cut serving tray

Elegant tray on legs – wooden top with a gold-colored brass gallery rim A tray that attracts attention even without tableware! This rectangular specimen combines a warm brown wooden top with a richly ornamented, gold-colored metal rim. Two graceful handles and four decorative legs give the whole a sleek, classical look. The filigreed rim is the centerpiece: a continuous pattern of rosettes, curls and foliate motifs surrounding the wood. The curved handles accentuate this nicely, while the rounded corners soften the design. Thanks to the legs the top is slightly elevated, so it also serves beautifully as a decorative tray. Such an elevated frame is called a gallery rim in antique shops. The contrast between dark wood and gold-colored metal gives every arrangement a warm accent. A atmospheric addition to a sideboard, coffee table or console table. Use it for presenting glasses, a decanter or a few favorite accessories. Features * Rectangular tray with rounded corners. * Warm brown wooden top. * Gold-colored, filigreed metal gallery rim. * Decoration with rosettes, curls and foliate motifs. * Two graceful handles and four decorative legs. Condition Visible signs of use and age, see photos. The wooden top shows numerous scratches, dark stains and wear to the finish. The metal rim, handles and legs show discoloration and superficial wear; locally there is greenish oxidation visible. When the tray stands on a flat surface, one leg protrudes slightly above the table, causing the tray to rock a little.
