For centuries, the seductive red-glowing garnets have been used in a wide variety of jewellery. Large, precious stones once adorned the colorful necklaces of the Baroque and Rococo periods. The form of garnet jewelry that we most associate with this stone today - stars and flowers, densely studded with countless garnets - developed in the middle of the 19th century and quickly became a public favorite. This garnet bangle from the end of the 19th century is a typical example of this type of garnet jewelry. It presents uniformly sized Bohemian garnets of excellent quality. They are set close together on the pleasantly rounded inside of the bangle, forming five rows that completely encircle the bangle. Typical of the time, the stones are set in tombac, which is completely unobtrusive on the front. As the garnets are set on small silver foils, the stones reflect the incident light in a particularly intense way. Nothing distracts from the gemstones, creating a magnificent band of red reflections. The hoop came to us here in Berlin.
