antique Shirvan carpet (or Shirvan) - Carpet - 221 cm - 124 cm

Ancient Shirvan (or Schirvan) carpets are among the most fascinating, refined, and collectible artifacts of the entire Caucasus production. Woven in the eponymous region, which today lies in eastern Azerbaijan (between the Caspian Sea and the Kura River), these carpets stand out clearly from other Caucasian types (such as Kazaks or Karabakh) for the precision of the design and the fineness of the workmanship.
