Antonio Soriano 1952, self-taught Neapolitan painter highly regarded by collectors and gallerists. Portrait of a young Lady signed by hand at the bottom right. The work is a half-length portrait of a young woman with an aristocratic bearing, whose hair is gathered, wearing a dark dress with details in purple-red and elegant jewelry. The painting presents a classical figurative style, both in composition and in the dramatic use of light. The brushwork is tactile and visible, especially in the illuminated areas of the face and in the details of the accessories, with the application of color alternating glazes and rather substantial strokes.
