The round box is made of a beautiful, bright green glass and mounted in an authentic brass frame with a well-working hinge and a front roller-lock. Both the domed lid and the raised sides are masterfully hand-decorated. The relief décor consists of finely enameled white-pink blossoms surrounded by lush, hand-painted gold tendrils, leaves, and clean outlines. This refined enamel work on colored glass is characteristic of the great French glass ateliers from the late 19th century (such as Legras or Saint-Louis).
