Attingham Femme - Nicholas Robertson

Attingham Femme by Nicholas Robertson Painting 14.0 x 18.0 :: While visiting Attingham Park country house in Shropshire UK I saw this mature woman with wild platinum ‘punk’ hair. We moved around the house reasonably close to each other and I was able to study her at length. She had a style I found energetic and captivating. I was able to take some surreptitious photos before she became curios about my observations. I have tried to capture ‘on the fly’ the moment she became aware of my scrutiny. The work consists of a Rowney Cryla acrylic base coat of burnt orange then opaque pigments are used to lay down the undercoating of some of the subject matter. Subsequently using acrylic paint in washes which has been thinned on the fly using diluted Liquidex airbrush medium. This layering of the work allows for subtle tonal attributes that give depth and intensity. The overall result is an acrylic painting with a degree of luminosity rather than the usual flat acrylic finish. Finished with a coat of Winsor & Newton Satin UV varnish this not only protects the painting but has a unifying effect. ?A suggested frame width of at least 50mm for this 35.5x45.7cm painting. This makes for the best visual effect and prevents warping. :: Type: Painting Medium: Acrylic Style: Contemporary Subject: Women Width: 14.0 Height: 18.0 Depth: 0.5 Weight: 0.5 lbs Framed: no :: All art on Zatista is original and signed.
