The monochromatic construction extends from the octagonal case and bezel through to the fully integrated bracelet, giving the watch a particularly sleek and contemporary appearance. The black “Grande Tapisserie” dial is punctuated by pink gold applied hour markers and matching hands, while the eight pink gold-toned hexagonal screws on the bezel create a subtle but immediately visible contrast against the ceramic. A discreet date aperture at 3 o’clock completes the display without disturbing its symmetry. Black ceramic is especially effective on the Royal Oak because its finishing reproduces the alternating satin-brushed and polished surfaces that are fundamental to the design. Achieving these contrasting finishes on ceramic requires considerable precision, particularly across the numerous facets and links of the integrated bracelet.
