Augustiner-Bräu München – Old metal advertising sign – U.S

Augustiner-Bräu München – Old metal advertising sign – U.S. Zone – ca. 1945-1950 Description Very old metal advertising sign from the famous German brewery Augustiner-Bräu München, founded in 1328. The shield-shaped sign shows at the top the text “Augustiner-Bräu”, in the center a classic brewery scene with two figures beside wooden beer barrels and at the bottom: “München – Gegr. 1328” An interesting detail is located at the bottom of the sign: “C. R. Dold, Offenburg – Made in Germany (U.S. Zone)” The designation U.S. Zone points to production during the post-war period when part of Germany was under American administration. This makes it clearly an early post-war advertising item and considerably older than modern reproductions. The sign is made of thin metal/tin and has an original metal hanging chain at the top. Dimensions: circa 26 × 20.5 cm. The sign is in an authentic used vintage condition. There are signs of aging and wear, including scratches, discoloration, superficial soiling, and wear. The image and inscriptions are still clearly recognizable, and the patina suits the object's age. The backside also shows normal signs of use and aging. View all photos carefully; they form an important part of the description. A special collectible object for fans of old beer advertising, German breweries, Augustiner-Bräu, tin advertising signs, and post-war memorabilia. Carefully packed and shipped with Track & Trace.
