Baccarat - Drinking service (7) - Elisabeth Millefiori...

Baccarat - Liqueur or port service, Elisabeth Millefiori model - 1 carafe and 6 glasses - Green anis crystal - France - 1930-1940 Splendid and rare liqueur or port service in crystal from the prestigious French manufacturer Baccarat, iconic model "Elisabeth" in homage to Empress of Austria Sissi, also called "Elisabeth Millefiori". This Art Deco era model is distinguished by its delicate anis/chartreuse green tint and its superb edelweiss floral decoration entirely acid-etched on the entire body. The motif is directly inspired by the famous 1865 portrait of Empress Sissi painted by Franz Xaver Winterhalter, where she wears edelweiss in her hair. The glasses rest on small transparent circular bases, offering a striking visual contrast with the textured and frosted green of the set. A very refined service, perfect for art glass collectors or to enhance an elegant table. All pieces of this model bear the frosted circular or engraved "Baccarat France" stamp under their base. Note, the carafe stopper is missing. The carafe also bears the number 42 under its base. Careful packaging and fast shipping.
