Bar - Wood

An icon of geometric design and the sophistication of the Postmodern era. We are putting up for auction this fascinating piece of conversation: a portable cocktail bar cabinet conceived as a perfect 34 cm cube. A clean, minimalist design that hides inside a captivating exercise in cabinetmaking engineering and three-dimensionality. When opened by its subtle knobs, the cube reveals a beautifully winged structure that doubles its size. Its interior unveils a suggestive play of carved mirrors that multiply light and the reflection of the crystals, immediately transporting us to the glamorous atmosphere of cocktail lounges of the 70s and 80s. Capacity and Functional Design: The inner base is meticulously perforated to securely accommodate up to 4 premium bottles. The upper “wings” incorporate floating wooden rails designed to elegantly suspend glasses by their stems. (Note: The bottles and glasses appearing in the photographs are shown solely for ambience and scale, and are not included in the lot.) High-End Ergonomic Interior Design: Unlike conventional bar furniture, the inner base has been perforated with holes of different diameters. This smart, custom configuration is specifically designed to house a complete cocktail service: from wide champagne or liqueur bottles, to standard spirit bottles and the exact space for the traditional shaker. A level of detail that demonstrates the exclusivity and premium purpose of its manufacture. Noble Materials: Made with a highly stable structure, veneered in warm-toned noble wood (mahogany/walnut style) with an impeccable satin finish. It features piano hinges from the era and a braided securing cord that adds an extra touch of distinction. Seal of Exclusivity: The top lid is crowned by a sophisticated gold inlay with the stylized monogram "me" in period lowercase typography. An extremely decorative, lightweight and versatile piece, perfect both for crowning a mid-century sideboard and for becoming the centerpiece of your gatherings. A true gem for lovers of European geometric design. This is a highly exclusive collectible piece with a very limited run. The cabinet is crowned by the elegant logo 'me'. Since no identical specimens are registered in the mass market, everything points to it being a commissioned piece from a master cabinetmaker workshop or a numerically numbered corporate edition for a premium liqueur brand from the 70s/80s. A unique opportunity to acquire a bar cabinet almost impossible to replicate.
