Baroque Architectural ornament - 1700-1750 - Lambrizering, oak wood

A hand-carved section of a lambrizering (wainscoting) from the early 17th century. The acanthus leaves are typical of the Renaissance and the Baroque. The lobes and shell-shaped motifs point especially to the Baroque. The oak wood clearly shows that this is truly antique. Also note the incised numbering on the back.
