Baroque-style mirror in carved and gilded wood

Baroque-style mirror in carved and gilded wood. Italy, 20th century. 93 x 73 cm (overall dimensions), 68 x 48 cm (visible mirror surface). This mirror is entirely carved and gilded, featuring a double-layered frame. The outer band displays a continuous motif of stylized, radiating leaves, while the inner band features a frieze of leafy scrolls and berries, punctuated at the center of each side by a small, raised, gilded circular element. The contrast between the gold and the burnished background enhances the depth of the carving. A beveled-edge mirror completes the piece.
