Bartmann jug - Earthenware - Renaissance

ice stoneware bearded-man jug in a pear-shaped form. The body with 3 medallions containing various family and/or alliance crests. Above it, the cylindrical neck with ribbed relief decoration. Late 16th century. In the book Bearded-men Jugs, Stoneware 1200-1950, p. 247, 06.144, a similar jug is illustrated. Poor condition, handle missing. This is a restored surface find.
