Between Them is a contemporary digital painting by Basel, built around a moment of silent tension among three figures. The three figures are extremely close to one another, almost confined within the same space. Yet, no real exchange is visible. The gaze of the central figure, on the contrary, traverses the scene to seek out the spectator. The viewer then ceases to be a mere observer: they become almost the fourth character of the story.
