Spine missing a small piece of parchment at bottom); very neat, solid, and compact block; very neat and clean pages! (only the usual light browning, minuscule brown spots and slight waviness of paper, a few stray smudges, otherwise very neat, very clean paper!). Complete. Contains all 31 engravings including the "explanation of these Art Prints". All prints are bound in. All the plates are of high quality! Very dark and sharp impressions, highly detailed copper engravings! First-class, true works of art by the famous engravers Bernard Picart, J. van Schley, and Tanjé. Printed on separate print sheets, the print size is 22 x 16.5 cm Beautiful clean and magnificent parchment. In rarely beautiful condition. The copper engravings (art plates) are based on paintings by Charles-Antoine Coypel and are regarded as one of the finest 18th-century book illustrations in the Netherlands. Among collectors, this edition is seen as one of the finest, most rare and costly illustrated Dutch editions The Weyerman texts are known for their vividness and satire. The work is not a literal translation, but a selection of the "principal cases" (important adventures/ events). The book tells the adventures of the wandering knight Don Quichote and his squire Sancho Panza, including the famous scenes such as the battle with the windmills.
