"Birdhouse in ceramic" "This series of birdhouses was born from a desire to change approach, to step away from my usual typologies to explore a freer, more decorative object. I wanted to work with a more instinctive drawing, applying to a new form the materials and textures I love: I worked the red stoneware to play with the oxidation and reduction that the glaze creates on the surface, by playing with aligned brush strokes and creating a relief between gloss and matte. A project a bit apart, more intuitive, born from a need to play, to experiment; far from daily function, but always in the gesture." This academic path opened doors to collaborations with prestigious houses and institutions. In 2018, he created his studio as an exploration space where ceramics, interior architecture and object design intersect, based on expertise in working with natural materials, allowing the creation of unique pieces that are both everyday objects and works in their own right. Today, the studio continues to combine traditional craft with contemporary innovation, with the aim of creating objects that carry meaning and authenticity. Lucas Huillet’s creations have been exhibited notably at Paris Design Week, Collectible in Brussels, or the Dubai Al Shindagha Museum. #outdoorjune
