Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath (Japan) – 1980 NEMS...

A beautifully preserved 1980 Japanese pressing of Black Sabbath's self-titled debut album, issued on NEMS (Sounds Marketing System) under catalogue number SP18-5010. This edition represents a country-specific reissue released during the band's 1980 touring period, when NEMS mounted a campaign to reintroduce Black Sabbath's classic catalogue to the Japanese market. The pressing carries the distinctive Japanese NEMS presentation rather than the original Vertigo artwork and labels, making it an attractive variant for serious Sabbath collectors seeking alternative regional interpretations of this landmark 1970 release. The album itself marks the beginning of Black Sabbath's story—a record that helped establish the blueprint for heavy metal itself, anchored by Tony Iommi's enormous guitar sound, Geezer Butler's dark lyrical vision, Bill Ward's heavy jazz-influenced drumming, and Ozzy Osbourne's unmistakable vocals. This Japanese pressing preserves the complete track configuration: "Black Sabbath," "The Wizard," "Behind the Wall of Sleep," "N.I.B.," "Evil Woman," "Sleeping Village" and the extended "Warning." What makes this copy especially appealing to the discerning collector is that all original Japanese components have survived together—a rarity in the market. ⸻ Sleeve (EX): The original sleeve remains in excellent condition, very clean and attractive with only minimal signs of age or storage. The presentation is solid throughout with no major wear. OBI / Insert: Original Japanese OBI present and well preserved. Original Japanese liner-notes and lyric insert included, completing the authentic Japanese presentation. Vinyl (NM): The vinyl appears completely unplayed, retaining a beautiful deep original gloss with virtually no evidence of handling. Conservatively graded Near Mint, this is a top visual example. ⸻ Details * Japan 1980 pressing * NEMS / Sounds Marketing System * Catalogue: SP18-5010 * Original ¥1,800 issue * Original OBI included * Original Japanese insert included * Complete Japanese presentatio
