A0000005218 This Blackbird Self-Filling Pen, one of the most representative and valued nibs among enthusiasts of the legendary British Mabie Todd & Co. manufacture, is presented in a truly enviable state of preservation. The body and cap, made of the classic noble ebonite (hard rubber) in dark color, retain with astonishing clarity its texturized or chased circumferential pattern, reflecting a magnificently cared-for surface completely free of cracks, fissures, or signs of heavy use. The material shows a uniform historic patina and a slight chocolate-toned maturation that is the unmistakable signature of its authenticity and age. The solid 14-karat gold nib stands out superbly: it bears the historic engravings of its denomination in impeccably sharp detail, with its nibs perfectly aligned and the iridium tip entire, robust and without the slightest deformation or twist. On the reverse, the grip section gives way to a robust flat ebonite feeder that proudly houses the deeply engraved watermark
